Caption: Caffeine and adrenaline crystals (epinephrine, adrenalin) crystals. Caffeine is an alkaloid found naturally in such foods as coffee beans, tea, kola nuts and cacao beans. Caffeine has a characteristic bitter taste. Its main pharmacological properties are: a stimulant action on the central nervous system with psychotropic effects and stimulation of respiration, a stimulation of the heart rate, and a diuretic effect. Caffeine is a drug and consumption leads to pharmacologic tolerance with defined withdrawal symptoms. Adrenaline is a hormone produced in the adrenal medulla that prepares the body for emotional stress by increasing blood sugar levels, metabolic and heart rates. Magnification*: x40 Type: LM
