Description:   Caption: Epinephrine (adrenaline, adrenalin) and sucrose crystals. Epinephrine / adrenaline is a hormone produced in the adrenal medulla that prepares the body for emotional stress by increasing blood sugar levels, metabolic and heart rates. Sucrose is the chemical name of table sugar. Sucrose is a disaccharide; each molecule consists of two ""simple"" sugars (a glucose and a fructose), called monosaccharides.
